Sr. Outside Sales Representative

A senior member of the Vivid Ink Graphics team, the Outside Sales Representative is responsible for a larger portfolio that consistently exceeds a regular portfolio’s performance. Meet and exceed sales objective by promoting and selling signs, graphics and small format printing & finishing services. Our Senior Sales Representative is expected to use professional sales techniques, build relationships and develop long term relationships that grow Vivid Ink Graphics' sales. Progression to Senior Sales Representative is based upon attaining and maintaining a minimum monthly portfolio revenue performance.

Training

Guided sales training will be provided on the job. On-going product knowledge training, including two weeks of structured learning on the production floor is required during the first 30 days.

Outside Sales Representatives are expected to secure training that they feel is necessary by working with the General Manager to continue their professional development.  We strongly encourage Sr. Sales Representatives to serve as mentors to newer members of the sales team.


Responsibilities

Major Activities:

  • Meet and exceed sales plan each month
  • Make at least ten sales calls per day of which two calls are new business
  • Strategically target businesses in the assigned territory that meet our ideal customer profile
  • Open new accounts and increase Vivid Ink Graphics' market share
  • Visit each established Vivid Ink Graphics' client once per quarter and identify potential growth areas within portfolio customers
  • Prepare written presentations, reports and proposals
  • Develop presentation skills utilizing electronic tools and present to clients on a regular basis
  • Maintain accounts receivable to avoid chargebacks


Self-Organization:

  • Plan each day, week and month before the month begins
  • Plan each sales call using the tools taught in sales training or from previous experience
  • Maintain a professional sales appearance
  • Maintain organized, up to date records of clients and sales activity
  • Insure your automobile has a neat and professional appearance


Time Management:

  • Minimize travel time; maximize time in the field with clients
  • Limit administrative work to non-core selling times; limit desk time
  • Continually develop new product knowledge and acquire better selling skills
  • Actively participate in sale meetings, networking events, seminars and trade shows

Working Conditions

  • Work environment includes outside sales and office selling, sitting, standing, walking, bending, driving and moderate lifting & carrying
  • Frequent written and verbal communication is required
  • Reliable transportation is required

Qualifications & Skills

Required Skills

  • Previous sales experience is preferred
  • The ability to communicate effectively through verbal and written communication is an absolute requirement
  • Extensive knowledge of sign and graphics and digital print industry is required
  • Market awareness and knowledge of the assigned sales territory is preferred
  • For internal promotions, twelve months of demonstrated success in the Sales Representative role is strongly preferred


Education Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required
  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university is strongly preferred
  • Prior sign, graphics or print training is required
